Small things that make a real difference. None of this is sponsored — it's just stuff I actually use.

Carabiner Necklace

A functioning miniature carabiner on a chain — clip your rings onto it while you climb if you're comfortable doing that. Keeps them safe, keeps them close. One caveat: it works brilliantly on routes, but if you're bouldering the rings will hit you in the face. Consider yourself warned.

Boot Bananas Nail & Skin File

Full disclosure: I'm not personally a fan of Boot Bananas' flagship product, because I don't want my shoes to smell like banana. But I love this thing. It's a nail and skin file shaped like a banana — and when the surface wears down, you peel off a layer to reveal a fresh one. Yes, exactly like peeling a little banana. It's deeply satisfying.

Talcum Powder

Any talcum powder will do. Dust a little inside your shoes and they'll slide on and off far more easily — especially when your feet are sweaty mid-session. It also helps with the smell. If you're feeling boujie about it, Margaret Dabbs' foot powder smells incredible and you can tell people it's a foot care product rather than admitting you put baby powder in your climbing shoes.
